Overview
Global Coin Research needed more than a website. They needed a working members platform, with research, deal flow and co-investment access behind a login, and payments to go with it.
A small team was going to run it day to day. Anything that needed a developer to change a headline was going to stop being updated.

Approach
Built it in Framer rather than as a custom development project, so their team could edit it without us
Set up the CMS around what they publish most, research and portfolio companies
Added Thenty.io for payments and accounts, the parts Framer does not handle
Uplifted the brand alongside the build rather than as a separate project
Stayed available after launch, then stepped back as they took it over

"Mat & Jon helped us translate the Global Coin Research vision into a site that truly reflects our community and mission. They led the full design and build with clarity, speed, and strong product thinking. The team was thoughtful, detail oriented, and highly collaborative throughout. Even after launch, they continued supporting us proactively. It felt like working with real partners who genuinely cared about the outcome."
The Call
A members platform with payments, gated content and accounts is a custom build. That's the standard answer, and it's the one with the bigger fee attached.
We built it in Framer and used Thenty.io for the payments and user management Framer doesn't handle.
The reason is what happens after launch. GCR publishes research constantly with a small team. On a custom platform every content change goes through a developer they don't have, and a platform that stops getting updated is worse than one that looks less bespoke.
It cost us the bigger engagement and some technical headroom. What it bought is a site their team ran themselves for over a year.

Outcomes
Six months from brief to a working members platform, carrying research, deal flow and co-investment access with payments behind it. Their team then ran it for over a year. Publishing, updating, adding portfolio companies, none of it through a developer and none of it through us. They stopped needing us, which was the point.
